How to make friends
How to make friends
Mami: Hi Angel, I’ve been living in the U.S. for a few months now.
Angel: Oh really? That’s exciting! How do you feel about it?
Mami: It’s interesting, but I want to make more friends.
Angel: Making friends takes time. Just be yourself and smile.
Mami: I’ll try. Sometimes I feel shy because of the cultural difference.
Angel: I understand. But people here enjoy learning about other cultures too.
Mami: That’s good to know. In Japan, we don’t talk to strangers so much.
Angel: Here, small talk is common. Even saying “hi” can start a friendship.
Mami: I see. I’ll start saying “hi” more often then!
Angel: Great! That’s the first step.
Mami: What else can I do to meet new people?
Angel: You can join a school club or a local event.
Mami: Like a cooking class or dance group?
Angel: Yes! Or even a language exchange group.
Mami: That sounds fun. I like learning with others.
Angel: You’ll meet people who also want to make friends.
Mami: I’ll look for a club this weekend.
Angel: Good idea. And don’t worry if it takes time.
Mami: Thanks, Angel. You always make me feel better.
Angel: Anytime, Mami! I’m your friend, and I believe in you.
