Addressing global warming
Addressing global warming
Kevin: Hey Jolly, did you see the news this morning?
Jolly: No, I didn’t. What was it about?
Kevin: It was about global warming. The news said that temperatures are rising faster than before.
Jolly: Yeah, global warming is becoming a serious problem. Ice in the Arctic is melting quickly, and that can make sea levels rise.
Kevin: Rising sea levels could flood coastal areas, and many people may lose their homes.
Jolly: And rising temperatures can also lead to extreme weather, like hurricanes and droughts.
Kevin: Right. I heard that heatwaves are becoming more common. They can be dangerous for older people.
Jolly: Exactly. And global warming can harm animals too. Polar bears are losing their homes because of melting ice.
Kevin: That's so sad. Some animals might become extinct.
Jolly: Everything is connected. If one part of nature is in trouble, it affects the whole ecosystem.
Kevin: So true. We should take some action.
Jolly: Yes. We can walk or ride a bicycle instead of driving, and that can help reduce pollution.
Kevin: Absolutely! Recycling more can make a big difference, too.
Jolly: And wasting less is important as well.
Kevin: There are so many simple things we can do!
Jolly: We should encourage each other to take some action.
Kevin: Every step counts when it comes to saving our planet.
Jolly: Absolutely. Robert Swan once said, “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”
