Is remote work really better?
Is remote work really better?
Anna: Hey Ryan, do you still work from home?
Ryan: Yeah, most of the time. I love not having to take the train every day.
Anna: Me too! No train means no stress in the morning.
Ryan: And I can sleep 30 minutes more. That helps a lot.
Anna: Also, I can use that time to make breakfast. I didn’t do that before.
Ryan: That’s great. I use the time to read or clean the house.
Anna: But sometimes I feel it’s hard to talk to my team online.
Ryan: Yes, me too. In the office, we can just ask questions anytime.
Anna: Now I need to type messages, wait, and sometimes no one replies.
Ryan: I understand. And I miss the small talk. It was fun during breaks.
Anna: Right. Now I eat lunch alone. It’s a bit boring.
Ryan: Same here. I think teamwork is harder when we’re not together.
Anna: Also, at home, it’s hard to stop working. Time goes so fast.
Ryan: Yeah! I sometimes check emails even at night.
Anna: I try to close my laptop at 6, but it’s not easy.
Ryan: I know. When the office is your room, it’s hard to rest.
Anna: Exactly. That’s why I want one day a week at the office.
Ryan: Good idea. A balance is best. Not 100% home, not 100% office.
