In Japan, summer is the time for ghost stories and test-of-courage games. 

People love to share scary tales to stay cool. 

Outside of Japan, people also have ghosts and monsters in their stories. 

Some of them are not scary at all. 

One famous example is Count von Count from Sesame Street. 

He is a friendly vampire who loves math.

Count von Count looks like a classical vampire, but he has unique features. 

He has purple skin and a large, pointed nose. 

His mouth has two sharp teeth, but he always smiles. 

He wears a dark black cape with a high collar. 

He also wears a clean white shirt with a sharp black bowtie.

His main habit is counting everything around him. 

He counts apples, steps, and even raindrops. 

When he finishes counting, he laughs loudly with a big sound like "Ah, ah, ah!" 

Then, thunder and lightning appear in the sky. 

It is his special mark.

He helps children learn numbers in a fun way. 

He makes math feel like a game. 

Many people around the world love him because he is passionate and cheerful. 

He shows us that monsters can be kind and helpful friends.
